Thanks for the photos, looks like it was a lovely meeti. Was the 40 Darrin 4-dr the Tareshawty car? Did you jot down any information on the coachwork on the Twin Six?

Thank you for posting these beautiful pictures of these beautiful Packards. It looks like perfect weather.

The Packard depicted in photos 004 & 007: What is the story on that car? It looks a lot like a 1940 Packard that was found in Mexico doing business as a taxi cab of all things. I believe is was a one of one 1940 Darrin Sport Sedan. It was restored and repainted in the original maroon or so the article read. The article was in either Hemmings Classic Car or Collectible Automobile so I'm not betting MY Packards that the above is true.

Hi

Thanks for posting the pictures, next best thing to being there.

The dark green '40 Darrin Sport Sedan is owned by Tareshawty. It's the other design Dutch tried in a effort to create a sports sedan with the verve less expensively than the dark red example that's Charles Blackman found in Mexico City and has been restored recently. That design, style number 720 is the more heavily customized with the sectioned hood and aluminum cowl. Notice this dark green car, style 730 has full hood section and largely unmodified cowl. It's still a good looking car, better if it had the runningboard removed and sidemounts deleted (my option).

To Owen:

According to the program the Twin Six (in photo 006) is a 1915 Packard 1-35 California Top Tourer by Brewster. It is owned by the Cofer Collection in Tucker, GA.

It is a lovely car.

Roger, If the Twin Six is a Series I, then does it have non-detachable cylinder heads? It is a lovely car.

Hello JW:

I really do not know that era and the hood was closed when I went by the car today. Below is the photo I took at the Concours today.

You know you can click on any photo posted here and it will zoom in for a better look. Maybe if you zoom in on the engine in the original posting you can tell.

I will post more photos tomorrow.

It was a quite a grand affair.
