Thanks Mal, I see it now. I don't have a lot of Henney tags for comparison and I'm still a bit confused by it.

Sorry for the delay. I went to a cruise in last night and got back in late. Didn't sleep well.........the 400 acted up on the return trip home. Radio, clock light and turn signals began acting up? Working then not working. More later. Hopefully something simple.

Here are the scans of the pictures I took in 1998. As seen this Henney was an unfortunate derelict then, but a seemingly undisturbed one. Obvious disassembly along the way since I photographed it.

This may be of interest too. Many years ago between Tucson and Phoenix, along the I-10 corridor, somewhere near Casa Grande AZ, there used to be a novelty convenience way station of sorts. The place was called "Furrer's or Fuhrer's" if memory serves. We passed it by many times in my youth, but we never stopped. The owner had many artifacts from World War II on display. And this Henney was said to have been a part of that collection. The man I spoke to years ago (I can't recall his name) purchased the Henney from that owner when that business closed. Anyway, it was told to me that General John Pershing (aka Black Jack) was taken on one of his final rides in that hearse prior to burial at Arlington National Cemetery.

Within the above link the Tucson connection with the General of the Armies of the United States of America becomes obvious. I'm not sure however that the time line is correct for what I was told. Wishful thinking ? Much permutation or distortion tends to occur as years pass. Who knows for sure?

Hi guys,
As you may know, the Hearse sold for $3549.99 and will have a new home in Pearsall Texas.

Can anyone tell me the wheelbase and overall length based on the info I posted?

According to the data plate, it is a 1901 series which has a 127" wheelbase. Is this correct or because it is a Henney hearse does it have a longer web.

The winning bidders are trying to decide whether to have it transported or trailer it themselves.

Do you see the "A" in the VN? Actually, its not a 1901, it's a 1901A (commercial 120 chassis) which has a wheelbase of 160 inches which has a OAL of 242 inches. It's also 1 inch wider than the 1901, I presume to accommodate the 6-ply tires and larger diameter wheels.
