Hi folks

I have come across the remains of a 3 ton truck but although most of the parts are there the engine is in very bad shape. Does anyone know where I can find parts or better yet a complete engine? Many thanks in anticipation. Oh and by the way - I will post some pictures as soon as I can.

I'd speak with Dave Lockhard, he probably knows more about Packard trucks than anyone alive and deals regularly with them and with other owners of them. He's founder of the Packard Truck Organization which is affiliated with The Packard Club and is also PAC's Roster Keeper for Packard trucks. He's in York Springs, PA, contact info should be in the The Packard Club directory, or email at:

davidbl23@embarqmail.com

Last time I asked Dave about how many Packard trucks remain, I believe he said about 100. There are a couple in Australia, and 1 or 2 in Europe, I can guess he'll be very interested in speaking with you.

Emailed a link to this thread to Dave Lockard, a real nice guy who I met at his Packard Truck Meet last year. The Packard Truck Meet is held right after Hershey every year.

Here are his comments, which I enjoyed, and I hope you do too:

"The article flatters me.

The truth is that few people are bone-headed enough to have one let alone have several of the multi-ton beasts......

Some years ago I was talking to a fellow at Hershey who had a Packard 12. When I told him I had Packard trucks he said "I am sorry to hear that
....".

Note, Dave agreed I could use his comments.

Thanks everyone! I will make contact with Dave next. Even though the truck is a bit worse for wear it is very restorable and of great interest this side of the pond particularly as it almost certainly participated in the terrible events of WW1 over in France.
