Should a 22nd series have springs behind the inner door handles? Mine don't and they are loose.

Getting ready to replace the rear door panel on my 48 - had to remove it to replace the regulator. I dont find any springs behind the handles, unless lost by me or previous owner. Anyone have two to spare, or do I really need them ?

If none are forthcoming they are readily available on ebay. Search for door handle tension spring. Most mfgs used the same or very similar springs so they are not specific to Packard.

As to need, if your door panel is not vibrating or tension on escutcheon rings around handles is already enough that you can lean or push against the panel and ring will not move in so handle retaining pin is easily uncovered, then you are probably OK without them.
