Hello John, My bad, I was not very specific about the stone guards. I meant the horizontal body colour metal flat pieces that fit between the mudguards and the front bumper. One to each side. I am not near the veh but I shall send a pic next time I am over at the car. Thanks for your response. Peter Toet

Hi Peter; There is bracket that bolts to the bumper on each side, the San Diego region of PAC did reproduce the bracket in the past. It supports pan at the u shaped cross bar. And a support that connects the joint in the center with the body under the grill. I will try to remember to take some pictures today and post them. I believe the pans were an option in 41 and standard in 42 as the are on my 42 .
As I remember the pans went on after the bumper. There is a rubber washer and a bolt with a spring that secures the support to the cross bar. Hope his helps.

I've seen 41's with and without the shield you mean. I'm not sure that it was used for the entirety of the model year, as it is incompatible with the typical front license plate holder that attaches to the bumper brace. It's the front version of the back splash guard that I think all cars had between the bumper and body

Yes. They fit fine with the license plate bracket.

Frankly, I am not a fan of the front guard. They are on my 120 Business Coupe, but were not on my 160 Convertible Sedan when I bought it 19 years ago.
The license plate holder will fit the the front guard in place, but (problem 1) you will need to drill holes in it if you want to mount extra fog or driving light. Problem 2 is that they make washing and waxing the front of the car a real pain in the azz. May have a front set for sale if and when I decide to mount the driving lights I own on the 120. My .02 cents.
