Not meaning to pre-empt a response from Ross but this listing from the Model Info pages should assist.

An Eight Deluxe can be noted by stainless trim along the edge of the door uppers and chrome escutcheons on the woodgrained interior window frames.

Ross and all you guys....thanks for the education.

So, from the pics on goldenrod garage website, this car is just an Eight. Not a Deluxe or a Custom.

Now the gent who owns the business has it listed as a Custom. And this car is actually 2 levels below that.

If it's a good driver and maybe in #3 condition, maybe a little less than 3.....do you folks feel $10k is a fair price?

Thank you

I'm more familiar with the 22nd series cars than the 23rd, so perhaps someone more expert than I can expand on this and educate both of us. By 22nd series norms, the car has the exterior trim (no stainless above the windows) of an Eight. The interior door panels have the chrome garnish inserts and the stitched panels of an Eight Deluxe (the Eight has no inserts and an inverted U of stainless on the door panel). The seat upholstery, as best I can tell, is neither the houndstooth check nor striped broadcloth, so a "period look" redo.

That said, there is not a significant difference in value between an Eight and Eight Deluxe - condition and authenticity matter more. A Super Eight/Super Deluxe has the larger engine and is considerably rarer, and does have a somewhat higher price. THe Custom has the 356 and an extremely luxurious interior, very different in appearance from the lower series.

Please tell me you are still going to look at this car. Otherwise I will need to do it myself out of curiosity. These people have been in business for a long time and I'd like to think they know what they are up to but Packard's are tough so???...
