One question I have since I am looking to get the radio restored to operation is who made it and what model number is it?

I am not sure S-W made all the radios. They did supply gauges for most models but almost all the schematics I have for prewar radios are for those made by Philco.
Unfortunately I have found no reference material to know how a radio model number Philco or any other mfg designated crosses to the PA-xxxxx number Packard applied to the external label on the case. That PA number was used to identify the specific accessory or radio that would be available in a particular model or year. A few of the Philco schematics reference a Packard part or accessory number but most do not.

Postwar radios were made by Delco and I thought that the prewar ones were too. I have a 1940 Philco radio but it is clearly aftermarket.

I believe radios 51 on were made by Delco. 42 Clipper and 46-47 is Philco as are the 48-50s. Not sure on the 40-42 conventional bodies and 41 Clipper but I suspect those were mostly if not all Philco too.

Perhaps Stewart Warner only provided warranty service, but they list themselves as manufacturers of car radios. Problems with radios were sent to S-W.

Definitely a S-W mfg'd radio. I don't have a 40 acc book but the 40 fact book lists a deluxe and a standard radio. 39 acc list has a single unit radio and a custom radio. 41 and 42 only mentions a custom radio for the dash and offers a rear compartment radio at double the price.
Since the dash units look quite different I would almost bet the single unit in 39 might translate to a deluxe in 40 and was the S-W unit while the custom or standard radios were made by Philco. Joe, could you post the other pages in the booklet. I and maybe others would like to save a copy for future reference.
