35 1200 trunk question

I am cleaning up the trunk on my 1200 project and question what I am missing in the picture. Does another board sit on the uprights and what size is it? Also note the small metal pieces, any idea what they are for?
Also missing oil filter lines, any one have a set or picture of the ends that bolt to filter. Thanks Dell

Dell,

I have reached out to guys with cars similar to yours. First the guy with the '35 1201 Slant Back sedan and also to Forum Member "Peter Packard", also known as Peter Toet Technical Officer for the Packard Automobile Club of Australia, regarding his Slant Back which I think is a Super 8 rather than a 12. Hopefully one of them will come up with an answer to your question.

Dell,

Quick update, Peter advises: "My 12 is a 38 but my 35 Super is a slant back with 29k original miles. I shall have a look. I have to remove the trunk first so it will take a bit of time. I have some work to do before then so hopefully after lunch."

Mal and Peter; I worked on the 35 today and might have figured out what the boards are for. I placed a board on the uprights and it formed a right angle with the back of the trunk which would allow a person to place a suitcase upright in the trunk. I have no idea what size the top board should be, but making headway. Jon

Dell,

Good that you've figured out what you've got in your trunk. Peter advised after his trunk inspection that: "somewhat disappointing. only thing in the boot was an original wheelbrace and a tin of spares. No sign of the timber structure, photos attached".

From my viewpoint it looks like the structure you have is an owner modification.
