I understand, maybe a size limit is best then. In fact, somehow making that image a jpg in MS Paint made it 3x the size of the original png. Compare:https://gofile.io/d/OtKcsp

Screenshotting my entire screen is still less than 1MB, so maybe that would be appropriate for a limit.

Although PNG works in most browsers these days, it is not one of the standard image formats for Web sites. Only JPG/JPEG and GIF are standard. That said, I use PNG all the time and never a problem.

I would be curious to know the last time someone has used a browser that does not support PNG, considering that, originating in 1996, it is older than I am. 🤔

I agree that browser programmers have taken it upon themselves to include it but I was simply pointing out the consortium standard. I do occasionally have issues with JPEG when none with JPG.

Thank you very much, Kev. Works for me. If you use a different image format, you will receive an error message.

Kevin (BigKev), am I mistaken or has the icon at the top of the tab become larger?

This a wonderful and much-needed new feature! Photos were awkward before at best and, while easy once one got used to it, newcomers always had a hard time.

I don't know how difficult it would be here but on my own sites I run a custom converter script that I wrote that can handle and convert BMP, TIF/TIFF, HEIC and some of the others. Maybe something to think about for the future!
