Need a source for an intake valve and guide for a 48 super eight.
Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Look at the 'Main Menu' options to the left, (3rd heading).
Bottom of the list is 'Directory'
There is a whole list of excellent vendors that sell Packard parts.
You will find all you need, I did!

Ben,

What major vendors have you called that didn't have any?

Might help to post the engine since Packard probably used them on a number of years.

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

I bought valves for my 53 from Kanter last summer, and if I remember correctly they were having supply issues with valves at that time.

Didn't see them on their website for a 288. Not sure what engine OP has.

Good Morning...Much of what the Packard suppliers have is not listed on their web sites...Far better to call them and discuss what you need. If who you start with does not have what you need...they will often refer you to who might/does have what you need. I found that building a relationship with suppliers, on the phone, pays off with more help and even friendship. Ernie in Arizona

Most vendor Web sites were accurate only when first created (and often not even then) but never updated after that. Best to contact them directly.

I agree, contacting suppliers directly is the best course of action.

If you're contacting Kanter, Charod is your guy. charod.marshall@kanter.com 1-800-526-1096 ext 322
