Waiting for piston rings to arrive, Made myself a set of pipes for my speedster project.
Yes, not very de rigueur in Packard circles. ![]()

Are you planning on polishing or painting them? Are you going to try fuel injection for the intake? It was done recently on another Packard.

Congrats. Beautiful work. Only those who've tried to build headers can appreciate the labor.

The car wont get driven enough to justify Fuel injection, though it would make it easy to tune. I was going to mount 4 Harley Bendix carbs but am putting a pair of Weber IDF's on it as the throttle linkage will be easier. . Sorting out an air cleaner will be the challenge.

The fuel injection that someone already did was well documented so should make it easy for you although it was on a prewar car. However, I’m sure you’ll work something out!

Did you decide on a body and chassis yet? I just showed your laker headers to our nephew who specializes in rat rods and he thought they were cool.

I have a 29 Chrysler 75 series chassis, 121" wheelbase. I'll build the body using the attached Railton picture as a guide , In Australia it gets registered as the Chassis being the vehicle identity, rather than the body or engine. As a 2 seater it will be cosy, chassis width is only 38" where the seats go. Have to be a bench I'm thinking. ![]()

Since you have plenty of wheelbase to work with, consider staggering the seats a few inches so the passenger's shoulders are , oh, 6 inches behind yours. I remember seeing that on several early race cars.
