While browsing for stuff to finish my Death Ray, I came across this website and thought that this would be nice for those who have the glow in the dark dashes like my '48 has, and they need to replace the glow in the dark section, as it's cracked and falling apart. (like mine is doing)

http://www.unitednuclear.com/glow.htm

$10 for 4oz isn't too bad, I think you'll have plenty to spare when you're done.

United Nuclear... Hmm i wonder if thats the same company as the one that used to actually run nuke plants and process waste. they did NOT have a stellar safety record in these parts.

Beats me, but they've got some cool stuff to a mad scientist like myself. I can even buy Uranium ore...... Might make me a nuclear powered Packard like they dreamed about in the '50s!

Did you try it yet? Which color do you think would be closest to our gauges?

Not sure of what Packard used for their glowing gauges but Studebaker used a form of black lighting and special paint...perhaps Packard did as well?

Has anyone checked with the many instrument rebuilders regarding this?

Yes, it was black light and fluorescent paint. This subject was continued on this thread:

I thought I remembered my '52 Studebaker having a black light gauge cluster.
