Another congratulations. Interesting the TL switch isn't mentioned in 55 OM--just a bit in lube section. Would have thought they would have promoted that quite extensively. Here is out of 56 manual

Congratulations Jim!

I'm glad I found it on H.A.M.B. while looking for Packard parts for my own car. The Seller has a '58 Ford 2 dr Hardtop that is gorgeous. I also own a '58 Ford, except mine is a 2 door wagon.

Maybe my '55 400 and your '5 Patrician will meet at a Car show some time.

Thank you everyone - and a special thanks for the switch location picture.
I did see the seller's '58 Ford and it IS beautiful! Needless to say, I'm grateful for you finding it and passing me the info.
I hope to have it up and running by late spring - but you all know about time estimates in this hobby. I look forward to seeing your 400. Especially since I almost had one myself.

Thank you but I don't know about the "fleet" idea; I've just about used up my "Toy Allotment" from the Reverse Mortgage. I have to keep some $ for the needs of the '51 and now the '55.

Hello everyone,

I've been told that one item(s) on my '55 has been lost.
So, what I need to know is the ordering info, description, identifiers, etc of the bolts, nuts or fasteners that hold the starter in place. I want to hook up the starter to see if I can talk the levelizer into raising the car's tail off the ground. Hopefully this will work so I can load it onto the trailer without damaging anything.
Thanks in advance,

Jim L. in OR

You can buy the 7/16 bolts at any decent hardware store. They are an ordinary common bolt but Packards were heat treated so get a good grade--5 or better.

Yesterday it became official: With money exchanged for Title, I became the new owner of a 1955 Packard Patrician. The colors are Ultramarine Iridescent top and lower body over Zircon. The interior is coded 60 - with the leather bolsters matching the Zircon and fabric a sort of Paisley version of the darker color. I plan on bringing it home as soon as I get a space in the garage cleaned out.
The really strange thing is that when I was about 8 years old, I traded a toy car of mine for two toy 55 Packard Patricians that a neighbor kid had. One was a sort of middle green over yellow but the other one was painted exactly the same as the car I bought Yesterday - 52 years later. All most makes me believe in "Fate".
I've lost the green and yellow one, but I found the matching one about a month ago in a box I was going through from my parents house. The model car was a "Dinky Toy" Die-cast for those wondering. I don't know what the scale is but it's about 4" long.

Congratulations again on becoming a proud owner. May it be a well behaved addition and not always asking for something. Since you're a veteran though, you know that won't happen and the "I mighta well do it's" will be forthcoming.

Jim,
My congratulations as well as for including your '55 Patrician Touring Sedan in the Packard Owner's Registry.

Regarding your look alike Dinky toy Packard, the '55 Patrician Owners Manual here on PackardInfo shows overall length as 218&1/2" and with the Dinky toy at 4" that equates to about 1:55.

EDIT - See Post #31 for Jim's NEW Packard Owner's Registry entry.
