For 1929, what color is the front bumper bowties supposed to be on a 626 sedan? Red or black? If red, is there a name or paint code/shade? Thanks in advance!

Kurt,

Black seems to be the color of choice.

Hard to tell in the last picture, these guys seem to be in a hurry.

Regards,

Dave

I thought they were painted red, same as as the hexagon in the hubcaps but those photos all show black. I might have to re-paint mine! The 626 Speedster in the Henry Ford Museum has them red for what its worth.

There was a brief discussion about this topic over at the AACA forums. If I remember correctly, red was used later (31-32), black for 6th-7th series. My 733 had original paint on the bowties, and it was black.
