On the pillar between the front and rear doors, about 6 inches above the frame rail there is a small chrome or SS button looking type thing. What is it????

Hi PackardV8 - sorry I didn't check this post. I wasnt ignoring you, honest!

That small chrome knob between the doors is attached to a little flap, much like the vents on the side of the hood. Its a pull-out vent that directs air into the rear passenger compartment..... air-con for the feet!!

Its opened and closed fom the outside.

The chrome grille you see on the inside under the door-stay is where the air comes in

I guess it wouldn't be too difficult for a passenger to reach out over the side of the car and open the vent????

BEAUTIFUL interior. I especialy like the Cordovan leather color. Is that a bar or maybe a little wine rack/stowage area that opens out the back of the front seat????

This isn't in fact a photo of mine. I just used it illustrate the air vents.

Mine is similar in colour etc but it doesnt have the foot rest or the drinks cabinet, although it would have done orginally - the hole is there but the fame was removed and covered over with leather. I'd love to reinstate it if I can find another cabinet box.

Might the missing parts still be in the stash where the front shock absorbers were found?

A drink cabinet? What a great idea. Mine has had the side curtains stored in there since new. Beware - after giving the car a once-over since shipping to Los Angeles, I found that compartment to be getting moldy. Probably a good idea to take the side curtains out for an airing. Original isin glass!

I have a thousand questions that only you can answer so please get in touch with me. I guess you also have questions that I could help with.

you can email me directly at sadlerk"at"sky.com (replace "at" with @)

Thanks

Ken
