Any Labor Day weekend plans with your Packards?

I will be out and about with friends and family, but hope to get a little bit more done on the car on Monday. Hopefully I will have the floors fully welded in by then and can start with the seam sealer and primer. Just need to finish patching a couple of small holes in the rear pans.

I also need to repair two of the seat track studs that are broken/bent. Probably will press/drill out the broken studs and replace with the grade 8 bolts. I believe the stud hole in the track is square, so perhaps a carriage bolt may work nice here.

Yes, working the Duchess of course, but returning to the Allure of the Automobile exhibit at the Portland Art Museum. Beautiful long weekend coming in Portland.

I am planning on driving the '55 Clipper to the Cars & Coffee event on Sunday. The event is held on the first Sunday of each month in Leander, a small community about 20 miles northwest of Austin. This will be the Clipper's first out-of-town drive. The C&C is an informal event. No judging, no awards, no entry fee. Just show up and park and stay as long as you want. I am expecting a better than usual turnout this month due to the holiday weekend and cooler temps (only in the mid-90s). I am usually the only Packard there and they (the '47 Clipper and the '37 Convertible Coupe) get a lot of attention. I'll take photos and share.

I am declaring a victory with the interior rejuvenation and will post photos and comments on my project blog.

Enjoy and be safe.

None for me, sadly. I drove the Packard (Evelyn) into the barn yesterday. Monday we fly for Hawaii, and I'll be stationed there for about 3 years. Might see the old girl once or twice in the next few years.

My God, Hank. It seems like only yesterday you announced his birth here at Packardinfo.

Time flys.
