For anyone who might be interested, there is a hard copy of a 1955-1956 Packard Service Manual for sale on eBay. The manual appears to be an original and clearly has seen some use.

yeah my manual is darker colored. i know it is an original too because mine has a piece of paper stapled to the inside front cover that say 'zone office' number and address and the zone manager and service manager.
and the numbers start with WA for walnut. i do have to agree the pictures are WAY better. Hank

The original 55-56 service manual had much heavier, leather-grained stock for its cover, compared to any reprint.
