I'm away from my computer in a Pick'n Pull yard where a '50s Packard I8 is about to go to the scrap yard. Hate to see it scrapped, but I'm mostly a V8 guy and need some quick help here.

Car is gone and the engine, pretty rusty; S/N appears to begin with a "J". How can I reliably determine the displacement and year?

Second question - estimates of core value, with overdrive transmission? Supposedly the car was driven into the yard some years ago.

"J" is 1951. If the first digit following the J is a 2, it's a 288. If it's a 4 it's a 5-main 327, if it's a 6 it's a 9-main 327.
