Thanks Mal. The article says the Caribbeans were the "least popular". I think it would have been better said if they used "least affordable" or something like that. They were popular, but expensive.

Hi

The article writer seems to confuse low production numbers with a lack of buyer interest. High prices certainly narrowed the pool of buyers. More importantly, the drumbeat of bad news about Studebaker-Packard's financial condition during early 1956 gave many prospective owners pause to reconsider a purchase.

One might have to put up with other Eldorados showing up often in the country club parking lot but when it came to trade-in time, taking less of a bath was important too.
