http://www.packardclub.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=3435#p15824 The tandem rear axles are most interesting, I'm guessing the rear-most was just a bogey but others have suggested the rear axle (axles?) were steerable.

Where would you like the pics put. The post below mine has a link to some of the pics but I have others also. Am meeting with Smoky Mountain Tours former owners son on Friday after tracking him down and am hoping to have an answer to the bogey or steerable question and other answers also. I'm very excited!

Gusha, did you read the thread (below) about Smokey Mountain tour buses by Packard? It goes back about 3 years. And also note this topic will be the subject of an article in an upcoming issue of PAC's quarterly publication.
Rather disappointingly I don't believe any solid information has yet surfaced about the coachbuilder of these units, and especially about the tandem rear axles on some units. I do know that #25 (the 1941 being restored by ChromeCars in Lasdorf,Germany) and #26 (a 1940 twin to #25) were built by Henney! The earlier ones we have no idea who stretched and built them! Can't wait to see how #25 turns out.This is #25 when she was in service with Smoky Mountain Tours. Steve

Hi Steve: Glad to hear Henney has been pinned down for the coachwork on #25 and #26, I'd like to know just how this was confirmed. But looking at the Henney and the 1937 Miller below, the parentage is pretty apparent.
