What is the bore size in the front and rear wheel cylinders? Are they used on any other cars? Thanks John

6 cylinder is the 2100 so from parts book listings it appears rears are 1". Based on the same part number being used for another application where the size is given as 15/16, that is apparently the front size. Seems interesting because it is just the opposite of what usually happens where fronts are typically the larger diameter.

There are undoubtedly other cars that used the same sizes but might take an old catalog to determine which used the same number and those may not be available today. I don't have cross info to anything modern but maybe it will be forthcoming.

The same diameters are surely available in modern cylinders but connection size and direction exiting the cylinder may be different so not a drop in and will need an adapter of some kind to work with the Packard hoses or tubing. I ran into that with new rears from Kanter for my 2106. They included adapters because the original tubing is not directly compatible with his replacement cylinders. The cutout and mounting method in the backing plate may also be different so if you are going to try local that is a more serious difference you may need to address.

Wagner part numbers. I should have all the individual catalog pages for each of the individual parts if you need one or more of them. Click to enlarge and sharpen.

Thanks for the Wagner numbers haven't been able to find a cross from the old numbers to the new ones yet.

The headliner in a 1946 Packard 6, I take it, it was a napped cloth headliner? What color would it have been?

John
