I think the ALCO is too cool. I have photographs of that car (I suspect at least) in a comprehensive history book on American Locomotive in my collection. I also work on ALCO diesel engines.

The 34th (?) annual North Jersey Auto Show was held yesterday, May 16th, in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. The show is jointly sponsored by the Restored Rusty Relics (a local, unaffiliated club) and the USR Fire Dept. We drew about 450 cars and 200 flea market vendor spaces. Over the years this show has donated more than $130,000 to local charities. Thought you might enjoy a few pictures; an aerial overview, the Packard "corner" where most but not all the Packards tend to congregate, and Joe Barnes with his (first time out) mostly original and very fine 1933 Super Eight Club Sedan. Joe Barnes received the "President's Award" from yours truly, president of the Restored Rusty Relics. Hope you enjoy the photos.

From the Franklin Lakes NJ show on Memorial Day weekend. That's Gerry O'Keefe (GTO) preening his black 56 Patrician, Ole Book in his 53 Caribbean, and yours truly's 56 Caribbean. There were perhaps 5 other Packards present at this 200 car event including a 1954 Cavalier, 1950 Eight sedan, 1938 Eight sedan, and a 1948 Custom 8 sedan

The Greenwich (CT) Concours d'Elegance for US-made cars was held today (tomorrow is for foreign-made vehicles). Many exotics and unusual vehicles on display and at least a dozen Packards, if you're inclined to view some pictures, visithttp://www.packardclub.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=543

I took my local car club to visit the Ralph Marano exhibit in New Jersey yesterday. Many of you will recognize Ralph's name, his cars have taken many awards at Pebble, Meadowbrook, Amelia Island, and the like. About half his 86 cars are Packards, many one-of-a-kinds and one of a handful made. Here's a few pictures, and more can be viewed at:

Some Packards at the New Jersey Region AACA show in Florham Park NJ on May 1, 2011. This was the 60th annual show, held on grounds formerly owned by Dutch Darrin's brother which makes a nice historic connection.
