Hi

A triplet of '55 Clipper Constellation hardtops:

A red & white, supposedly low mileage but looks very tatty:
http://quadcities.craigslist.org/cto/4690375378.html

A weathered blue, Kansas car, left quarter damage, cheap:
http://wichita.craigslist.org/cto/4740036929.html

A surface-rusty cream colored, pricy:

BDC, I saw that same vehicle for sale on another site and it was said to be a Superior, not a Henney. That would be a surprise as Packard's contract to supply Henney with chassis for such vehicles was an exclusive supply contract. Superior supplied Studebaker almost exclusively in the 20s and early 30s, then ambulances/hearses primarily on GM chassis, mostly Cadillac with an occasional Oldsmobile or Pontiac on occasion. I believe they went belly-up about 1974.

Here's the link: same vehicle? Clearly says its by Superior.

Dave,

At the bottom of the eBay listing is a note saying it's NOT a '39 Superior but a '38 Henney.

It appears to be a 51 200 sedan in base trim but I believe the interior has been redone or at the least had carpet installed instead of the rubber mat that would have been in a standard 200. Can't make out the 3rd digit of VN but would be a 9 if the base sedan.

Aside from the modern wiring there are a few other interesting things under the hood-- the blue extra ground cable to starter and a hose on the wiper motor washer port going somewhere besides where it would normally go.

A decent car to start a project with but not thinking I would be bidding where he is wanting the bidding to begin.

Hi Rusty"

That $1K '51 300 in Kingsburg and $750 Patrician in West Lancaster would be a good combination to get you to one nice driving car with parts leftover to maintain it.

Know that we easterners are green with envy that nice solid old Packards can still be bought relatively cheap in the left coast states. What rust hasn't completely ruined here, its still working on!

Steve

This warrants noting, what a nice-looking '56 Clipper Super sedan for the price:
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/4755455470.html

And this handsome '47 Custom Super seven passenger:
http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/4762496537.html

And this sporty '53 Convertible, stick with overdrive!
http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/4762537354.html
But the continental kit would have to go.

Yes it would seem that caalifornia Packards, post war and otherwise are in good shape and cheap compared to back east. I never even seen one when i grew up in Indianapolis.

Most of the packards that are cheap back there are in this condition.
part of the landscape already. half gone to rust at best.

http://peoria.craigslist.org/cto/4728613324.html

though it would be nice to clean up and get running . ( it's a Henney!)

the one in Fresno i am going to go see

then this one but wants too much , but still a good price.

http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/4742841822.html

this one i am going to check out too! he wanted 4 grand a year ago , and alas post war 200's are not worth much here. i saw a few go in great shape for five hundred.

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/4759002495.html

I am not looking for a 300 . is so only for a motor

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/cto/4755405889.html

I need a windshield for my 52 Deluxe! i may horse trade with the guy in Lancaster cause that windshield if in good shape will work ( i believe )

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/ant/cto/4756026119.html

i cant find a windshield anywhere out here.
also my 52 Dlx came with a k400 motor but alas it has a 51 288 (j200) in it now.
i would like to get that too

i love my 52 deluxe aka Betty Blue! and she deserves to be but back as intended.
I may half to get her painted back east though .. air laws prohibit getting her back to her Yosemite blue metal flake here in California

sHE IS HALF PREPed now for a new paint job. if you guys have any thoughts on 'H' Yosemite Blue- it would be appreciated.

i wish i could spend five grand on a california air resource board approved paint job. but i cant

hey thanks you guys!
