Or would anyone recommend converting to tube shocks in the back?

G'day bazil55,
to PackardInfo but sorry I can't help with your query. Instead I invite you to include your '39 120 in the Packard Owner's Registry.

What goes thru the bushing and what kind of forces will be applied? Nylon and acetyl materials are good under tension but not very good with a direct impact force.
If whatever will be pulling on the piece is steady and not too high under tension polyurethane might be better for a movement that has severe shocks as might be seen in a shock absorber.

HH56, it's connected from the axle to the shock absorber so it will have impact from road bumps etc.
I believe polyurethane may be the way to go so I can pour it directly in the piece. It has a lip so the inside diameter is larger than the outside. I found this article online about pouring your own bushings. It may be the way to go in this case Thanks for the reply and helpful ideas!! grassrootsmotorsports.com/articles/how-m ... r-own-delrin-and-urethane-bushings/

Does Steele products have any rubber bushings for this? You might want to check

JRPackard37, as far as I know they do not. It's almost like they were integrally molded to the part. I checked with my parts supplier and he said I could probably have them revulcanized by Steele.

Not sure if the dimensions are the same for '37 and '39, but on my '37 115c I was able to order shock links from my local Napa. I believe they were from a '60s Oldsmobile product.
