Pictures are too small to tell, but someone may be able to help you with the numbers you gave.
From what I can see, though, it's a 1930 model. If the hood has four doors on each side, it's a Model 740. If it has louvers on the side, it's a 733.

Hi Shelbyd73
Your Packard is a 1930, Seventh Series, Standard Eight, Model 726, 5 passenger sedan, Model No. 403. one of 15,731 produced. The combination of body mouldings, hood louvers, frontal details and 127 1/2" wheelbase visually identify it. Looks like a nice original car, hope you will keep it in that condition, get it functionally dependable but just clean and maintain as much of the original finish and trim as possible. Steve

That is a very nice Packard, would like to see some pics that can be enlarged. Also the history of the car which you seem to have would be interesting to hear about. Was it restored then parked? Overheating is not unusual with honeycomb radiators that are old............

The correct carburetor for this model is a Detroit Lubricator single barrel updraft. These are being reproduced and are priced at $1750, a bit more affordable than the $9,000 you were quoted. Contact Max Merritt, 800-472-2573
