I have on restoring a 35 Packard Victoria 1201 standard 8. My car has chrome headlight, park lamp and tail light buckets. Also the lower grill panel below the grill fins are chrome. Is this correct or should they all have been painted? Also the hood side moldings were plastic self adhesive, does know a source for real ones? Thanks!

Just about forgot another question. Should the bumpers have painted recessed areas or are also chrome?

G'day Prfriskopp,
to PackardInfo. I'll leave it to others who are more knowledgeable about your questions to answer them.

However, I invite you to include your '35 1201 Victoria in the Packard Owner's Registry.

Re the bumpers, they were painted recesses 1935; in 1934 (Eights and Super Eights) they were true openings. You can view original factory photos on this site.

Factory photos are more reliable indicators than the artist's renderings in product brochures which were done well before production began and may also include some "artistic license". However, factory photos were B&W and not always useful when considering colors. Here's a rendering from the 12th Series Eight brochure which quite clearly shows the recesses painted the primary body color.
