Looks like I got a good project that will keep me busy....... Can't seem to figure out how to post pics but once I do I will put her up.

Welcome to the Wonderful world of Packard! I just joined after my recent acquisition of a 1948 Super Eight, and what struck me about your post was that I, too am considering selling my Mustang to finance the restoration.

I pretty much paint things for a living, and in the process straighten and remove rust from quite a bit of stuff too, having been in the auto body industry for a few years during and after my college art school education. All of those aspects of the project I can easily handle. I do all of my mechanical work too.

The costliest aspects of my endeavor are going to be upholstery and plating, which I have not experimented with in the past and not about to at my age. (Hmmmm... maybe a little small parts plating operation-I could probably research online to see if it's doable...) or not!

Then there are expenses such as wiring, unexpected parts needing replacement, and rubber/seals/weatherstripping. Wide whitewall tires.

This is why the Mustang may soon be up for sale.

If you're like me, you'll really come to appreciate the wealth of experience and camaraderie that this community provides. You've really hit a gold mine!

J
