Hello all, anyone have any tips on how to clean & repair this emblem? Is it copper? Would 2 part epoxy work?

You can easily re-solder the pin onto the emblem; there is hardly enough purchase area for the epoxy to hold.

The emblems are brass stampings and will polish up beautifully either by hand or on a buffing wheel. Clearcoat afterwards.

What kind of solder/gun are you guys using for these types of projects? My little soldering gun is great for small electronics but it doesn't seem to have the power to do anything like this. And the solder that I use for electronics doesn't stick for these projects.

You would probably need one of the little propane-type irons to be hot enough for something of this size that would otherwise dissipate heat quickly from a smaller electric iron or gun.

Soldering irons used for electronics might not have enough wattage for this job. My dad had a heavy-duty soldering iron that he used to repair leaking radiator tubes - even gas tanks. Take a look at a Weller D550.

Soldering requires perfectly clean surfaces too. Probably wire wheel both surfaces to be soldered, then use a swipe of flux on the surface of each part and tin both surfaces before final soldering. That is, solder both surfaces and wipe with a clean cotton cloth to leave just a shinny film of solder, then put them together. This will allow the final solder to flow nicely into the joint for a strong weld. If it does not flow then it is a cold solder and has no strength.
