Appreciate the offer, but I enjoy all the twists and turns the car has had over time getting to me. A 39 Packard Six speedometer may not be original, but gives further depth to the car's past and its journey getting to this point.
Thanks! Bob J.

So I suddenly realized I have all sorts of decals in my model shop! I am involved in Model Railroading too so I have decal sheets to letter locomotives and freight/passenger cars after painting. So I took the speedometer out and painted the last two wheels their proper colour then applied the number decals to the wheels. I then coated them with clear to seal the decals. I know that the fonts are different from the original, but now they read properly. To be honest, I did not know the tenths were distinguished by a black background with white numerals until I had the odometer wheel under the magnifying glass and saw some artifact of the original paint on a small section of that wheel!
All back together now. As you can see, we have enjoyed over 400 miles in her this season. Bob J.
