Curious to how much good used items would be and how much not to pay ? Thanks everyone

When discussing 1949 Packards, it helps if you know which Series the car is. Packard sold both 22nd Series and 23rd Series that were 1949 models. There could be a major difference in the front bumper and its attachment.

Ok I got the car bought and brought home , looks to be a 22nd series with s/n 2262-9-xxxxx.

to PackardInfo and for including your '49 Deluxe Eight Touring Sedan in the Packard Vehicle Registry.

As far as the central grill is concerned, you can use one from any 1948-1949 22nd Series Eight, Deluxe Eight, Super Eight or 1949-1950 23rd Series Eight, Deluxe Eight.
There are 5 grills available on eBay now starting at under $130.00 (missing emblem). The grills are fairly easy to come by. You can post a WTB notice here in the 'Packard Parts & Misc - For Sale, Wanted, Trade' forum.
The bumper needs further investigation. Packard switched from the open (split) front bumper to a solid 23rd Series style bumper during the 1949 22nd Series run. You will need to find out which your car needs. does the car still have the bumper and/or the attachments still in place?

Whatever you do, select the potmetal grille parts that are as smooth and free from pits with good chrome and bumpers also with good plating that can be polished to look good. Chrome re-plating is hideously costly.
