Went over today, sprained knee and all in my 56, which ran all day with impeccable manners.

The town was great, the cars were great, the food was excellent.

Due to the knee, took no snaps, but I hope someone will post some.

I wish some of you PI guys would come to some of these events; we all profit from the exchanges of experience and ideas.

Packard ownership is getting very old; we all need to develop new entusiasm for our marque or we will all be orphans of the storm.

I'm on my way home from Galena. I took about 30 photos of the cars on display. Great show! I'll post some of the pictures when I get home on Saturday or Sunday.

Todd Bates a member of Ark-La-Tex Packards and who, together with his Dad Nelson and The Flackmaster, visited Oz for the 2009 Australian National Packard Rally forwarded these links with this comment "PackardInfo members please feel free to copy and paste the blog address or the links below so other certified Packard nuts can enjoy. hmmm... Seeing The Flackmaster has not yet posted the links I feel bound to do so. Lots of Packard pic's, including the Panther-Daytona, enjoy.

Todd pre-fixed the Blog spot entries with this "For all interested: Ark-La-Tex Packard members David & Peggy Stewart have struck out on one adventuresome journey. They are traveling in a 1925 Packard.....from Longview, TX to Galena, IL. A long trek in this type of vehicle. Can you believe this is being done with a car that has no windows?" My take on this is that it's quite an adventure but just shows Packards are made to be driven!

The pictured Panther probably is one of the few Packards with red steering wheel.

Edit: Even a purple version exists.

Mal, thanks for posting these words and photos. I have seen David's 1925 "Light Eight" (private joke) as a regular at Salado. He drives that Packard everywhere.

Just got home today from Galena. I only attended the judging where the cars were parked on the main street of Galena. I'll post some photos. I hope they turn out!

Very nice photos and the street parking is different and a pleasant change from the usual line up.
