easyed, I don't know which particular DL 51 you're looking for, but I know of one for sale advertised as follows:

Some addition data on the the DL type 51.
DL Air Filter Decal location shows the wrinkle finish on the carburetor body, gloss on the air filter goose neck and filter. www.packardcarbs.com also offers parts on their site although the checkout function wasn't working when I tried it. Be interested to know if anyone has ordered / received repair parts from them.

Patent for the DL type 51.
Inventor was W.C. Rayfield, creator of some very early carburetors for racing machines.

G'day Packardcarbs,
to PackardInfo. And, just in case you have something to bolt DL's or other carbs to, I invite you to include your Packard/s in the Packard Owner's Registry here on PackardInfo.

One thing the reproduction carburetor is missing is the accelerator pump cover.
I would inquire for a reference as to how well the unit has done on another car. For show they look great. If you are dead set on a this model carburetor for a 1929 car it does have features that are more modern than the Packard carburetor.

Thanks for suggesting the dust cover, they are seldom seen, since it was probably thrown away by early mechanics. We should have them available later this summer. Check out the website as there are more parts added weekly. Best regards, David.
