Lookin' good Ross. Gotta love the Overdrive. 80 must be a little below 3000rpm. Just when Clippy is starting to stretch her legs.

Big excitement here in Parkton. Picked up the world's nastiest 54 Patrician chiefly for the scintillating Gear Start Ultramatic to be used in a future project. Its 5452-4682 for those who keep track. A 359, complete power steering setup and tinted rear window are available upon request. Cheap.

The next entertaining photo: Clippy helped pull the recalcitrant Patty off of the rollback.

Behind Clippy is a 53 Clipper chassis destined to become the next roadster. Sometimes you win. The engine in this nasty parts car, whose body I discarded with extreme prejudice, was remarkably clean compared to the rest of the drivetrain and painted an odd blue. Yes apparently a recent rebuild before the car was "put up"; it runs beautifully and starts instantly. Even the carb is OK.

Lastly a 56 400 picked up from a friends estate. More about that later

Ross,

That Patrician looks like it has a Bullet nose Studebaker front end!

Look forward to the gear start project.

Love the hand made hood but in my opinion, the hood ornament on the roadster is your finest piece of small art. You should post a pic for your fans with and without the high beam on and give a brief description of how you came up with the design.

You sound rested after your trip to Africa! Didn't you have anything to do???? 😂

That's a car that needs to be towed behind the woodshed and shot to put it out of its misery.

Or towed to my shop so that I can put the Gearstart into my 1954 Patrician! I have a transmission but that's it.

This particular Patty made poor yard art so we hastened its departure. Even the most rancid parts car can yield positive surprises: power antenna still works! The engine turned???!! (but piston #1 didn't move; rod was snapped in half something I have never seen. I think I spot a small inclusion in the forging near the oil hole) Piston is undamaged and so is the cylinder bore. No cracks apparent near the valve seats and the crank is beautiful. Also, input shaft on the trans shows no wear; that bodes well for the balance of it.

Anyone like a good 359 builder? Or built? Free connecting rod with every purchase.

The engine it tempting but interesting seeing what appears to be a resonator in the exhaust system. Is that stock for '54 or aftermarket? Neither of mine have it.
