I already asked my son to help me but even he can't find the switch to turn off some software filters. To find this thread we used the search function. The forums overview doesn't show it. And within this thread there is some kind of user filter. We were looking for news from Guscha but even the old comments are hidden. That's what I dislike about computers! I need your help.

I believe I'm correct when I say that Gusha's comments aren't hidden, he chose to delete them.

That confirmed the worst fears.
I'm one of the authors of the German magazine "Last & Kraft", a vintage truck periodical and always on the scout for interesting stories, verifiable facts and contemporary photos. I will try to upload a cover. It might very well be possible that Guscha is/was the best source for Soviet cars I've ever seen in my life and in addition to it a bright guy. Months ago I asked the son to save Guschas comments and photos on my notebook. I hope my quick prayer is heard and he did it. A year ago I met Guscha at a car meet. He is such a friendly person that one can't hope to find anyone more agreeable and charming. I'm dying to know what happened. M. G.

This was his Chaika and we discussed the pros and cons of its bias-plys. He explained the interior life of a Russian vulcanising press like a nature lover talks about endangered species.
Do any of you happen to have his email address? M. G.

Mal, thank you.
brakeservo says at www.blog.hemmings.com: "... somehow the Russians imbued the car with the precise handling and sharp steering of a fine European sports sedan! It amazed the hell out of me the first time I drove mine! And the quality of construction - workmanship and materials etc on my car was superior to any Rolls-Royce, Mercedes, etc that I've owned. It truly was (styling aside) a world class motorcar and should be recognized as..." To reply diplomatically I call nobody less than all of you to the witness stand. The Soviet foreign trade department has been a very powerful organization and did the utmost to get convertible currency. For two decades Chaika's were offered all around the free world. Very diplomatically speaking, the result was rather underwhelming. If something unknown is "superior to any Rolls-Royce, Mercedes, etc" then it has to be one of the most closely guarded secrets. Otherwise there would be no need to mention its superiority. The witness questioning simply consists of one question. Do you believe in free enterprise economy? Attach file: (41.71 KB)

Amazing poster above... is a copy of it available anywhere? That would be superb addition to the garage "office".
