Is this a 138CD? Looks too long for a 120. Maybe the paint scheme or angle of photo is making me think it is not a 120.

I also see that it has the powered window lifts -- weren't those pre-war ones controlled by vacuum and not by hydraulics?

Prewar windows were hydraulic but did have suction involved.

Prewar pumps ran both directions. Running one direction supplied pressure to raise the window. A solenoid valve kept the window in position. To lower, the valve was opened and pump was reversed to provide a suction action to pull the fluid back to the reservoir. In addition to that suction there was a spring at each window to assist the emptying.

Postwars were simplified and had pumps running in a single direction only. Pressure was used to raise he window. When lowering, pump stayed off and the solenoid valve opened. A heavy spring exerted pressure at the cylinder to force the fluid back to the reservoir.

Hi

More pre-war models from the west:

For comparison, another '41 180 but an ambitious project, looks to be a formal sedan on the 1908 chassis:
http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/5663501294.html

Or, how about:
A '29 626 sedan project:
http://boise.craigslist.org/cto/5684416815.html

A '36 120, ready to enjoy:
http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/5678908043.html

A '37 Super Eight club sedan, preserved original:
http://monterey.craigslist.org/cto/5647915264.html

A '39 120, ready to enjoy:

No lack of good choices!

There's so many things wrong with this but you could drive a packard convertible for $16.5k

I called on the 37 super eight club sedan, and it sounds like it has some engine trouble.
