When attaching the bracket at the bottom of the divisor bar, drill one hole and attach the bracket and then use the other bracket hole as a guide. As can be seen from the photo, I didn't do that and had to redrill one hole.

All that's left is to install the vent window glass itself. Install the tensioner in the small area in the bottom of the frame and position the glass frame stub into the bottom hole in the weatherstrip. The notch in the washer with a point goes to the rear.
That Phillips head screw adjusts the tension on the vent window so that it will stay in position where you put it. Adjust this now so you don't have to remove the door panel to gain access to it.

The glass can then be worked into position and the pivot screw installed from the top of the frame.

Now I can install the last two pieces that are unique to the convertible and I'm ready to install the frames back into the door.

Randy,

"Like chalk and cheese" as the saying goes.

Your illustrations, referencing, detail and step by step descriptions are text book like. When compared to my out of focus pic's, lack of references, insufficient detail and all over the shop narrative it makes me hang my head in shame.

I salute your excellent Project Blog.

I located a glass shop that still had the tool and knew how to use it. Clearview Mirror and Glass in McKeesport, Pa. The young guy who answered the phone laughed and said they hadn't done any auto glass in 40 years, but he put the "oldtimer" on the phone who said "Bring the vent windows down". He removed the glass in 15-20 minutes and only charged me $20.00. Now I can disassemble the frames and take the parts to the plater.
There goes another hole in my sock!

Randy, you're doing one fine job on that car!

Speaking from experience, if one does a Caribbean convertible, you need VERY large socks, so you have enough room for the very large holes.
