The 1938's hood ornament appears to be one of the Buglar Swans as sold by J.C. Whitney and others, and frequently used on Peterbilt trucks.

It's pretty quiet when it comes to nice prewar Packards on CL, but here's a 1929 sedan claimed to be unrestored, but was this even a Packard color in 1929?

From a 1930 Portland auto show article. Packards at the show had the brightest colors of any marque.

Pre war Packards are slim pickings lately. For the last 6-12 months the numbers on CL have been coming down considerably.
