Thanks Guscha. That appears to be the gentleman. My car came from Oceanside, CA. The previous owner was Dr. Irwin Gullet (who passed away in 1998).
I wonder if someone out there knows someone that worked in Mr. Bryan's shop that might recall my car. John Bryan would have been well into his 80's when the work (engine rebuild) was done.

EDIT - I won't be getting that Packard at Christmas because I've inadvertently deleted the entry! Have apologised to Santa but doubt that'll get me back on the good list.
