My deepest sympathies. It is not surprising, given the plant shutdowns that have already been announced, but Chrysler has just lost some real talent. I would rather see heads rolling at Cerberus. Hang in there! A man of your talents would be a great asset to any employer.

Mr. PB, I'm really saddened to hear that! I've been waiting for the first shoe to fall on a friend or someone I know and like, but as someone else just said, a man with your many talents and intelligence will surely be at the head of the pack when you find an opening. Chin up!

Mr. Pushbutton, Sorry to hear also. I grew up in a family where several members worked in the auto industry from the 1920's to the present time, including me at Chrysler Canada in 1964. I recall as a kid the 11 months my dad was laid off at Ford of Canada in 1959 and how hard times were for us kids. My mom got a job at a canning plant stewing tomatoes and boy did we eat a lot of tomatoes sandwiches that year! It is a very cyclical industry and I hope that in time it will recover. In the meantime my heartfelt sympathy goes out to your and all the auto workers affected by this deep recession we are in.

this is for ever, no call back.
Thanks guys, between all of you and my other friends on facebook and my theatre organ pals I've received a lot of positive energy. One of my friends left a fifth of Maker's Mark on my doorstep last night!

Never say forever no one can tell what will take place in a few months look at Gas prices in July thru the roof now thru the floor. Things have a way of working out. When you look back on life the bumps you had don't appear very high or as low as they seemed at the time.
I speak for more than a few saying we have lost jobs people have a habit of overcoming problems in there lives thats what life is a series of tests.
