Their stating
"This car has had a ground up restoration" Think they mean they GROUND UP a PACKARD and built this.

That's about correct. The word I heard is that the windshield frame, and maybe the front doors are "leftover Darrin parts".
What a mess.

The 55 Clipper Panama is advertised with a numbers matching 352 engine. These Super models came with the 320 engine. A very nice looking Clipper, but suspicious about the claims.

This 38 super 8 with the wrong engine is getting desperate. He dropped $20k since advertising it. It's still way over priced.

I doubt if a buyer of that Darrin thing could succeed in court. A judge wouldn't hear a case like that in the absence of a qualified appraisal and dismiss on the grounds of due diligence not being fulfilled.
Secondly, most judges would consider anybody nuts for paying that much money for old cars. I knew an early CCCA guy who had a mint original SSK Mercedes that had parts stolen off of it at a shop. He sued and the judge simply looked at the case and threw it out on the grounds that old car collectors are nuts.
