The copy reads like something a bored high schooler put together. Confusion over which engine it has and other details.

Is there damage on the passenger side? Looks like ripples in the front passenger door and the front fender.....

When two men ride the same horse, one has to be in the back...

Judging from the location of the distributor and the type of starter, I would say it still has its 356 engine.

Looks like a really lovely 22nd series Custom 8, and an early one at that. I'm amazed at the condition of the interior, even the driver's seat shows no significant wear of the checked "shadow cloth" wool broadcloth which is absolutely unobtainable these days. There was a one-time reproduction of that fabric by Bill Hirsch long, long ago - sold out quickly and not to be seen again, according to Bill.

Dave,
Roughly 18 months ago I sent a request off to SMS for a sample of Burgundy Shadowcheck wool to replace the faded green currently in my '49 Custom. I have the sample. So I'm assuming that it's still available. I guess I'll find out for sure when I finally order it.

Well, if true that's indeed good news for owners of Custom 8s. That's a really expensive wool broadcloth to make, Bill Hirsch had his made in Scotland and it was VERY expensive. If SMS has it, I'd guess they too had it remanufactured.

Like almost all original Packards it needs a set of springs.

I need cloth to redo the fron seat in my 48 Custom eight,I need the brown.
