Vin number on my executive 2dr is 567 A 1717 on the plate. shouldn't it read 5677A 1717 My question is, Is that how the title should read? Thanks for any help Joel Packard

It should be 5677A-1717 and is how the title would read. Apparently something happened when they did the plate numbering. You could check how the engine is numbered. If the engine is original, the same 5677 number as the plate should be located on it alsol.

If the car has been previously titled by the number as it is shown on the plate then it could get interesting in correcting it unless you can show the engine number as the same.

All manner of curiosities and anomalies can be found with vehicle numbers on patent plates. I recently saw a photo of one from a 22nd/23rd series car where the entire first portion of the VN, the body type, was omitted so the plate just had the sequential number! It's hard to envision that the car could have left the factory this way yet from the condition of the plate it's clear it was mounted to a vehicle; I'd guess that when the car arrived at a dealer in this manner the dealer would have requested a replacement patent plate in order to properly title the car unless it was sold in one of those few states that titled with motor numbers.
