It's been several years since I updated my Panther website, but a lot of progress has been made in the interim. There's something for any Packard enthusiast on there, so I posted this under "General" rather than "Modifications".
Here are the major sections: The Inspiration The Basis Panther "Restomod" Projects Panther Restoration Projects Packard Conversion Projects The Library The Showroom Packard Related Weblinks The following major sections have minor or no changes: The Inspiration The Basis Packard Conversion Projects (added Power Windows) The Library The Showroom Packard Related Weblinks Panther Restoration Projects (new): Chassis Cleanup & Painting Torsion-Level Suspension Overhaul Body Sheetmetal Repair Panther "Restomod" Projects (mostly new or some major updates): NOTE: if you are a purist, you may want to avoid this section! Completed Subprojects (as of February 2016): Engine Computer Simulations (updated) Engine Components (non-stock, no change) Panther-like Interior Upgrade (no change) 4-speed Manual Transmission 4-speed Floor Shifter Brake Booster & Dual-master Cylinder Fuel Delivery Swaybars (Front & Rear) Inprocess Subprojects: Air Conditioning & Heater Clutch & Pressure Plate (hydraulic) Custom Body Modifications Headers (Steel 3-tube) Planned Subprojects: Battery Relocation To Trunk Driveshaft Modifications Wheels & Tires NOTE: some of the "Restomod" projects have also be covered in more or less the same detail in separate threads on PackardInfo.com. Please let me know if you find any problems, i.e., broken links or missing pictures. I and others have tested it pretty thoroughly, but there appears to be a minor problem with "camel case" capitalization of some picture names between my test system and the ISP server. If you find something, please PM me rather than add a reply to this thread. 1956packardpanther.com/Panther/PantherProject_Index.html The other projects (Paul's 1956 Executive, Kevin's 1955 400 and Packard V-8 Club) on the main home page are unchanged. Since the Panther Project is ongoing, there are some sections that are partially complete and "...to be continued." Craig

when going to your site at work I'm getting blocked by my corporation due to virus and Trojan warnings. On Nov 3, 2015l, a virus infested some of the html code on my ISP. I talked to the administrator and this was identified, fixed and prevented the next day. For my part, I uploaded the "Gold" copy of the html source code to the 'Panther' section of 1956PackardPanther.com, which overwrote the virus. Apparently there were a few html files in the OTHER sections (Kevin's 400, Paul's Executive and Packard V-8 Club) which escaped detection. I just uploaded the "Gold" copy of those sections to overwrite everything there. If you get a warning now, it's because whatever virus detection system you are warning has an out-of-date database entry listing the Panther website as still infested, but it is not. You can be assured that it is clean. Craig

Mac OSX El Capitan - I got the home page OK, but when I tried to open the "4 Speed Manual" link, <http://1956packardpanther.com/Panther/4speedManual.html>, I got a "404 File Not Found" message. Here's what it was looking for: '4speedManual.html' and here's the name of the file: '4SpeedManual.html'. Another minor case mismatch in the "Camel Case" name that works on my home system (XP SP3) with the same browser (Firefox), but not on the website. Fixed now...Thanks! Craig

I am curious how the glove box will fit with the new AC unit or is your Panther going to worry about one. You removed the radio but is the unit far enough over to not be a problem with the box? That is one issue with factory AC. The glovebox has to be smaller with that enclosure and your aftermarket looks even bigger.
