Henry's 37 Limousine

I recently was fortunate enough to purchase back the car that was my Grandfather's back in the early 90s. I have many photos, documentation, and video of my Grandfather's restoration of this car. I was 12 when he died in 1993 and the last memory I have of this car was riding in the back to his funeral.

My Grandmother sold it to a local Limousine service, who converted it to 12v and put a/c in it. Then it was sold to Mr. Dolan.

Thanks to Mr. Dolan for selling the car to me and giving me the opportunity to create new and many more memories with her! God Bless you sir!

This will be the placeholder for the 1937 138-CD Limousine that will be shipped to me soon.

There will not be any major restorative efforts on the car as it is in great shape already. This will be mostly about smaller things I do to the car. Maintenance and refreshing, etc.

The picture of her in blue were the colors my Grandfather had her in. This pic was from the Cincinnati concours de elegance, where she took first place.

first thing will be a good cleaning! I will post a good after photo when I get her sometime next week. Please do not look poorly on her dirty state, Mr. Dolan has done an excellent job keeping her and he has fallen into ill health. I am very appreciative of his efforts to maintain and restore her!

Congratulations. I guess we all know where your priorities are leaning now. One running complete with fond memories is worth two or three of something not running and still has a long way to go.

Oh no, I'm about 70% done on the clipper. I love working on that thing. Too much time and effort in it to give up on it now. although you are right I would have the 37 over any project any day!

When I got my Dad's 70 Dart Swinger and did some refreshing on it, I still worked on the clipper. I just couldn't pass up on the opportunity to add my Grandfather's 37 to my stables.

I'm glad the other cars I have run and are in good condition and not projects. I think I will only ever have 1 project at a time....and now I'm out of room to store anything else anyways. So, the clipper could be my first and only project I ever do. who knows.

Even if it takes another 10 years, I'm still gonna keep going on the clipper. Heck, my son may take over and I'll help him with her.

Hank,

Congratulations on your Grandfathers Packard, a great family connection with it coming "home". And I particularly like the collection of photos included in it's Registry entry.

Looks very nice, congratulations. Apparently about 515 made according to Charlie Blackman's estimate.

Thanks! Good and bad news. Shipper couldn't get it today, but he is getting it Monday for a Tuesday delivery! So I get it early!!

From what I've been told, maybe around 10 are known to exist still out of that 515. When my Grandfather had it they only knew of 3.

One of those may be mine and the other Don37 on this forum who is restoring one. No idea. But it does seem that it is pretty dang rare even for a junior Packard
