Can't say as I have. That one being a model, it is hard to say if it was just a concept or a real production item but sure don't remember ever seeing photos before. The Amphicar is the only water and land going vehicle I can remember.

I don't know what the word for a sea going variant of aerodynamic is but hard to say if that or the Amphicar wins the prize as the least likely looking seaworthy vessel. The Amphicar being narrow and tall might be the winner. If it was a real item, at least the Packard knockoff seems to have a wider and lower stance so maybe (in looks at least) a bit less likely to get swamped if a big wave came along.

It's a model of a real car that exists. A story of the real car appeared in Car Collector magazine in the late 1970s or early 1980s.

Was it just a car looking like a boat or did it actually go in the water?

Egad and gadzooks!! And I thought my style sense was questionable. The article says it was a publicity car and for that it surely serves its purpose. My question would be is the publicity it generated beneficial or would it scare people away from whatever it was publicizing.

It was publicizing no less than the bikini. Next to the girls the Packard was almost invisible.
