Here is a picture of a map that was left in the office by the man I bought the buildings from. I took some pins and placed them on the map at all the locations that I have bought only 1937 Packards at. (1st one in 1983 and the last one in 2012) I have not shared this map picture with my wife however. And I still have a very bad 158 inch wheelbase hearse yet to bring home that was purchased last year.

I see you have a pin up here in northwestern Ontario. Looks like it might be about where the town of Sioux Lookout is located. Can you tell me something about the Packard you purchased up this way?

Clipper47 Okay, I checked the pin and it's out of place somewhat. Looks like maybe 644km. My son bought a 1935 120A Sport coupe in Neepawa Manitoba. While he was there he called me and told me of what was left of a 1937 138CD 5/7 sedan. I bought it and my son delivered it to me. There is not much left and now all I have left is the cowl with a very nice dash and a few window moldings. The car was laying on it's left side for many years and ruined the body and the frame. It was kinda of a donor for my 37 138CD 1090 of this forum. I will move the pin out of Ontario and put it in the right Province. I should have known better as I go to Ontario (Cambridge) for my work sometimes. I did get the North distance about right though.

for including your '37 CD One Twenty Deluxe Touring Limo in the Packard Owner's Registry.

It's been a long time since I have posted on the Limo project. But here is an update.

It is currently in the paint body and paint shop. It is going from the Packard Blue to the Regatta Blue. After the car is painted I will tackle the Interior. The chauffeur
compartment from the black leather interior to a dark blue leather. and the bland tan cloth rear compartment to a semi dark blue cloth.

Here is what I have done to the car so far.


Repaired the frame back to original

Had a 1092 trunk floor welded in to fix where a rectangle hole was caused by a leaky battery

Changed the drive train back to original

Rebuilt a 282 motor (runs fine)

Converted a 1954 3 speed overdrive transmission to floor shift. (Still need a few parts to make that fully functional)

New wiring harness (Rhode Island)

New Sill Plates

All new glass

New reproduction Gear shift knob, battery box, fuel sending unit, hubcaps, trim rings, running board trim, Juliano's top insert. Waldron SS exhaust.

7 wheels powder coated to match the body color

Rebuilt thermostat for grille (works great).

Wood-grained my dash and senior & 120CD door trim in my shop. (Was redone 10 times to a very close to original finish. I used a 120 under the the removed chrome dash piece to match it.)

I am keeping the car 6 volt. (see how that goes)

Here are some pictures of the wood-graining. I did not think it was too bad a job. The company I got the equipment from made it difficult as I had to change the base paint color to get the best results.

Good progress Don, keep at it. One question - you reference rebuilding the Sylphon thermostat...do tell...??

Beautiful work, termites will be fooled

Here are some new sill plates I waited patiently for 15 months for. There are two sets here, one set for the 37 138CD Limo and the other set for my 1937 120CD Sport Coupe. the coupe and the limos front doors share the same length sill plates. Worth the wait...............

Step plates from Doorsills of North Haledon NJ?

It has been a long time since I have posted on this Blog. I finally got my Limo back from the painter. It has been 1,178 days. I will never have a car painted by a business. That is waiting for it 5% of my entire life. I will learn how to paint myself for my other cars. Here are a few pictures of it. It cost 10k for the job.
