Ok, thanks for telling me about it.
You know if this "new" seal is included in current gasket set?

PJ- I have no idea but thought it worth mentioning so you can confirm the correct front seal if you are planning to pull the engine.
I believe I ordered the front seal from either Kanter or Max Merritt after the oil bath incident .

I was looking at the most recent Kanter catalog…they send one more frequently than my utility bills..and noticed that they do offer delivery to Europe and other countries.

Hope this helps
Stay safe and enjoy the Packard.

The push button mechanism was very troublesome and most collectors remove them and replace them with standard shift. When it malfunctions the car is not drivable.

If you're concerned about the reliability of the pushbutton unit I can highly recommend the rebuild and to some extent re-engineering services offered by Mr. Pushbutton. I and many others who had him service our units have had just excellent reliability over many, many years. His units are better than the OEM units.

Thanks for all this informations, it will be very helpfull.
This weekend, I checked breaks. Good news, everything is new at the front and in good condition at the rear. But as the brakes were not properly adjusted, I was not able to stop the car without using the parking brake! Now everything works great.
Last thing: I took a picture of the hitch... It's look like a home made work!!

Nice looking car
First I'd do a lot of reading about your car.
Second see if anyone in France might have
first hand knowledge..
I think the two biggest items are the brakes and
transmission, unless your is a stick shift.
If you read on this site you will see people
who have switched the front drum brakes to
Disc Brakes.. Yes I know. but safety first.
If you do have bad lifters, Chrysler 318
will fit.. but make sure you get the correct years.
Best of Luck, KMI

At least we are two in France, crazy enough to maintain those Detroit irons! I know there is another Executive coupe in Normandie, for sale on Leboncoin, for at least one year (no sale so far). Mine has the push buttons as well, and plans are to have it rebuilt by Mr. Pushbutton when I find time and motivation... In addition to few other things (TLR bushings, delay switch...).

That car gave me bad vibes. I belive tried to bought that same car two years ago and lost all my money.(picture included)

I bought executive 4d model now. I have made alot repairing and parts are quite easy to find. I am from finland and here many parts can be found in local shops.
Some small parts i made with a 3d printer.
There is place in here where they make windshieds to old/chopped top cars.

This forum Gives priceless advices.

I can try to help you with your car if you need 'European' help

Only 3 '56 Packard in France... The Executive in Normandie is in realy good condition, it's possible to see it on Youtube.
I fund seals for the steering cylinder at a local hydraulic parts dealer. Kanter will provide me the other parts for valve and pump.
I'm still looking for the windshield: I tried to contact Auto City Classic but it's impossible from a foreign country. And Metro Parts Market sent me an email telling me it's not in stock. Even though I saw this windshield on their website!!!

A.E, I'm really sorry!! But yes, it's the same car!
