I think I may go for this from Restoration Specialties, half the price of Steele Rubber.

Hmmm... beginning to wonder if there was an upper and lower run. I've seen that on other cars.

The factory plate shows that steel lower channel, unless I am looking at this incorrectly.

Well, why I am awaiting further clarification on that, the mailman arrived.

Those two hubcaps I bought from FB Marketplace came in. These are very decent ones for what I paid for them. I just need to find at least one more, preferably two.

Also, some shiny parts from the Dallas Zone Office arrived. Thank you to the Master Partsman there.

Which begs the next question, does anyone reproduce or have a stash of the red hex bumper bolts?

I faced the same thing, but found that discarding the bottom piece and running the new channel the entire length of the rear vent channel worked great. Door windows wind up and down smoothly with no gaps. There is an adjustment on the one arm of the window glass riser to dial in that feature to make them parallel to the front channel.

Hey Kev,

I came across a red hex bolt on Ebay last night. Looks like John Ulrich has it.

Dezi, thanks for that. I fixed your link.

If you have a loooooooong link, it's better to use the LINK button vs pasting it directly. Otherwise, it causes weird display issues.

Ulrich's listing is an option if no one repops them or has cleaner ones. I need at least 3 of them.

Page 3 of the Kanter Packard Parts List has the Red Hex Bumper Bolt 2.001 @ $59 each. (Yikes!)
Bob J.

P.S. Having never dealt with a hex head and a square shoulder bolt, when I first set them into the bumper guards I thought I had two that were wrong as they would not seat properly, turning them 90 degrees allowed them to properly align in the hex pocket and my blood pressure to return to its somewhat lower state!

plenty of hexbolts anytime - like a gallon paint can of them....note that they are the same as on the 120 guards that are on your bumpers now.
