The engine's road draft tube appears to be very close to the exhaust pipe in this photo. Could be a potental rattle?

Several things going on. Moved onto my running boards. Have new pads coming in From Steel rubber tomorrow. I found this thread as a reference. Going to follow this best I can.
packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb ... c_id=23260&order=ASC&status=&mode=0 As I was taking the boards off and cleaning I was wondering if the pads were a standard? And if so why did they put the ridges in the metal and then mimic them in the padding? My driver side has some crusty spots so I will need to be careful when cleaning that area. The driver side was pretty solid and the paint was still pretty true. The old pads were just ribbed rubber. I think my grand mother had them replaced. Probably by the same guy who put on the exhaust. If you can take a look earlier in the post and comment on my exhaust path that would be great! Ben

Yes, the rubber covering was standard. The ridges are there as the rubber was vulcanizing over the metal in a mold. So not a separate cover that was glue down. Also the ridges make running boards stronger.
Your exhaust routing looks good to me.

Thank BigKev. So vulcanized…. makes sense now.
And thanks for the feedback on the exhaust.

I'll be curious if Steele ever updated their molds to include the space for the ridges on the bottom. The ones I have from Metro are molded with the recesses in the bottom for the ridges.

Steel Rubber delivery has arrived, but 2 unfortunates.
1. The back of the Running Board pads are flat, so a little more effort will be needed there. 2. The rear tail light mounts do not have a center hole for the wiring to come through, so I will need to create that. 3. Head light mounts look like original.

A cheap hole punch set from HF will pay for itself over and over.
harborfreight.com/9-piece-hollow-punch-set-3838.html Great for making tail light wiring holes in rubber gaskets! Also, making gaskets from scratch when no premade ones are available.

So after further analysis, I decided to return the pads to Steel. I spoke with the engineer, Don at Steel, and he understood the issue on the backside being flat, and actually recommended another company, Northfield Ltd, but they do not make 37 Juniors.
@BigKev, Assume you were happy with Metro? No concerns there if I go with them? I called them, and they actually had them in stock, which surprised me, so it should be a quick turn to keep me moving along.
