I would for sure pick that original power antenna and mounting grommet off the car. Even if it doesn't work they can be easily repaired. To lower the antenna without power, there is a plug on the side with beeswax on it. Scrape off the wax then loosen the plug a couple turns. Then you can gently collapse the antenna. These are a few hundred $$ on eBay. You usually need a special wrench to get that nut off without tearing it up, though. Or use a thick rag with pliers. The electrical connections are plugs behind the antenna switch.
I'm sure some of the other stuff could find a home if you pick it up at scrap yard prices.

What is the interior color and overall condition on that car? I'm assuming disgusting and rotted out? If it just happens to be the same scheme as mine (green) and in decent shape, I would be very interested.
If you happen to swing by again, I would grab the ignition switch, trunk lock, and glovebox lock. And antenna still, as the manual ones are actually very rare and impossible to repair AFAIK. Unless it's too bent to collapse.

When stripping my hood to get it primed, I found this interesting marking on it. Looks like
"Cleveland works use this side. Would they be the supplier of the sheetmetal for the car? ![]()

Got the hood primed & painted underneath. I have a question...
when stripping it there were some "cardboard" type shims between the structure & the sheet metal. Are they required to go back in? and what would a fellow replace the with? ![]() ![]() ![]()

Probably to reduce ratting if between pieces of metal. Just use more cardboard...
Does that area get too close to the hood hinge assembly?

My hood also had cardboard shims in those locations. The cardboard eventually deteriorated completely. I did not end up replacing it when I restored my hinges and the underside of the hood. I have not had any rattling from the hood at all, but I attribute that to good fitting rubber bumps and a few strips of sound deadening mat under the hood pad.
They may have been to prevent the hood brace from contacting the hood skin when opening. When the hood is at full open the sheet metal appears to flex a bit and it looks like it almost touches the brace. That's the best I can come up with. -Kevin
